"Fitting a walk into a busy life can be challenging, so I suggest walking rather driving to work or to run errands as often as you can - in other words, think of walking as alternative transportation." Andrew Weil

- Dial-a-Ride service is a shared-ride system with priority given to ADA qualified riders.
- Because this is a shared ride system, be prepared to ride the bus when getting to/from your destination. During peak times/days, riders could be on the vehicle up to 60 minutes.
- When booking your ride, please let the dispatcher know of any special needs you may have so that we can accommodate you when possible.
- If you should need the assistance of a Personal Care Attendant (PCA), they may ride with you at no extra charge. Be sure to inform the dispatcher if you will be riding with a PCA so that a seat can be reserved for them.
- Service animals are welcome without prior arrangements. If transporting pets, they must travel in a carrier.
- Office hours for scheduling transportation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. To cancel a ride, call anytime and leave a message.
- Service is available from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
- We do our best to respond to changing schedules; however due to the high demand for our services, we are not always able to change pick-up or drop off times on short notice.

Our “Dial-a-Ride” system combines the services of a bus and a taxi: riders call in advance to schedule rides and are picked up at the curb of their home and taken to the curb of their destination. Door-to-Door service is available upon request. Riders are scheduled in groups wherever possible to efficiently provide as many rides as possible to the community.
ADA accessible service is available to persons with disabilities, including persons using wheelchairs.

VanPool
The vanpool system is an excellent transportation alternative for those with long commutes. Passengers share the cost of fuel, maintenance and insurance through a monthly fare. Not only do you save money, but vanpools provide a comfortable, relaxed ride. Vanpool drivers are fellow commuters, responsible for collecting the monthly fee and fueling the vehicle.
To start a vanpool you will need a driver, back-up driver, and coordinator. We offer the training for this at our office. You will need to choose who you want to be the Bookkeeper/Coordinator. The coordinator must also be approved as a driver. There is a Vanpool Monthly Report sheet that needs to be filled out daily and everyone needs to pay by the 1st of the month and return the report and payments to the PTBA by the 10th of each month. There is a vanpool agreement that all the riders have to fill out and sign. There is a Vanpool book in the van that has all the log sheets (Vanpool Monthly Reports), rider agreements, driver agreements, policies and transit accident procedures & forms you will need. We can go over all this if you decide you would like a van.
The cost for the van is $909.47/month if you average 75 miles and $947.27/month if you average 80 miles. The more people you have on the van the less each rider has to pay.
Asotin County PTBA can tell you how to set up a vanpool with your own van. To start a vanpool you need a minimum of 5 riders including several people who are willing to drive (and who have good driving records).
