“Eat healthily, sleep well, breathe deeply, move harmoniously.” ― Jean-Pierre Barral
As youth transition to adulthood many factors must be considered including maintaining health insurance coverage and finding new physicians that serve young adults. This section has medical facilities, free clinics, Medicaid services, mental health counseling, and spinal cord injury information. What do you do if you get sick? Do you know where the emergency room is in case you have an accident? Young adults may need professional assistance in addition to help their families can give them; these services can help them take care of physical health and get help working through problems they face in their lives.
Parents, did you know that for children under 19, Idaho’s State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) might cover your child if your family’s income is too high to qualify for Medicaid? There may be a small monthly cost for SCHIP coverage ($10 or $15, depending on income) for each child who receives SCHIP.
Medicaid might be the only medical insurance some adults with disabilities have when parents can no longer continue their coverage on the family plan. Medicaid will help pay doctor and hospital bills.
